Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier Review
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier may not be from series-creator Naughty Dog, but High Impact Games clearly approached the franchise with respect for its PlayStation 2 legacy. In most ways, they succeeded in making a new Jak game that lives up to those expectations.
The story reframes the series for possible sequels: the protagonists' planet is on the brink of destruction due to Eco shortages, and the duo (along with Jak's girlfriend Keira) are on their way to the (very literal) edge of the world to look for a new source. The fact that only three people seem to be doing anything about the end of the world is curiously never explored. But, the new direction means freedom for untapped characters and locations, and for establishing that, it does a fine job.
