First epic I got was the Hakkari war blade I think from raptor boss in ZG.

First Raid Epic was the Sorcerous Dagger of Gehennas.

Gut Ripper from pickpocketing...nothing great, on Farstrider server goes for around 3-500g depending on circumstances.

My first epic dropped off first kill in Scholomance...Brain Hacker....nice lvl 55 2H Axe. Sold it for 600g on AH.

Same day I got Ring of the Underworld in STV killing a stonescale basilisk.

I never discovered an epic item anywhere but instances where they were supposed to drop.

I have wanted a Robes of Insight for ages...

Never got any epics to drop for me outside of raid instances before BC :(, but raid wise before BC was Huntard pants off the doggy ;), in BC outside raids ect that dropped was some epic LW shammie thingie can't recall off hand, but first inside was ofc Steelhawk Crossbow :D
