Space Harrier, a Shooter video game for PlayStation 2
Space Harrier
Sega Ages remake of Space Harrier. Space Harrier has a special place amongst all the Super Scaler games as it screams Sega weirdness like only Fantasy Zone before it. You play as this futuristic hover dude who zooms through the air, blasting enemies, trees, rocks -- anything that comes at you. Add in a colorful color palette, some happy arcade tunes and you have a defining Sega title. This game takes the original title, adds polygons and a few graphical frills to it, changes the gameplay a bit, tops it off with a CD-quality soundtrack, and puts it on store shelves for 2500 yen. Gameplay-wise, the big addition is a new lock-on feature. By holding down a button and moving a cursor around the screen, you can lock on to enemies Panzer Dragoon-style (a strange thing to say, since the original Space Harrier is considered an influence for Panzer Dragoon's shooting gameplay).
