i've played that game for so long... it was crazy. sold it to my friend a few years ago, i've been regretting it ever since.^^
finally got over it and bought it for pc insteadXD

i started with ff for nes, then ff3 (us) on snes, but i must say that when i played ff7, those 2 were blown away.

even though my all-time fave is ffX, 7 is a close second. the graphics weren't that great, but they were building the 3-d engine from scratch, you gotta keep that in mind.
a remake is a must, hell, they should ALL be remade. and i don't count the psp ones.

They just gotta remake it again intense graphics

the game is great but once you hvae played through it once it becomes a little bit to easy they should make a remake with a difficulty setting to challenge you or different modes where you can select no materia or no items at the beginning of the game that would be sweet! also if they did a remake they should make it so you can actually see the bangle they are wearing change ;)

I dont want a remake of this! A remake wouldnt be the same and would ruin the things that made it perfect! Maybe just a patch with the script read out like in FFX! SOOOO much to read in this game lol but still...perfect!

The only way a remake could kill this game is if they screwed with the story line and game mechanics. Otherwise, a remake with better graphics and voice overs with the same storyline and gameplay mechanics should be pretty awesome.

am i the only one who thinks that a remake might ruin this game? i mean games arnt as epic as this one anymore, if theres a remake itl end up being something people could complete in about a day. and then in the futur no one will think of the awesome final fantasy VII, itl be remembered as just another final fantasy game.

Love this game. I remember waiting in line when it came out. I was never a fan of RPG's and had my best friend not had that wierd obscure fighting/rpg game, Tobal no.1, I would've never tried the game. (Tobal no.1 came with a demo for FFVII). After playing it, I was hooked and waited in line for hours for this game. It was the first game I ever waited in line for. I remember bailing school early to play this game. It may not be the greatest RPG ever or even in the top 5 for most people. But FF VII will always have sentimental value for me as the game that opened a door to a whole genre of video games for me. No talk of being overrated, not good, or any negative comments or thoughts would be enough to change that for me. As for this remake talk? Let's do it.

I played FF1-4 before FF7 was even conceived. And I can say that I definitely had the most fun playing FF7. FF3 may have had a more complex job/combat system (in some ways), but as a whole FF7 was a much better game.

Bigger world. MUCH more in depth/immersive/powerful storyline. Buster Sword. Enough said.

Its very simple, The games lengh is great for Ps1.
The story line is amazing
The gameplay is Quality
The graphics may falter but the cut-scenes make up for it

its not the fact that its mainstream for the reason i love it i remember when it was the most inovative game out there showing what we could do with a expansive storyline and amazing graphics "for its time" i suppose its one of those you would have to be there when it hit the shelf kinda moments

This is a great game by any means in fact Im playing it right now, but the story was sort of confusing with Zack and what the hell Cloud was ranting about, but still good. Personally I think this is a great rpg hands down.

By far one of the best final fantasy games even till this day. Even with it's signficatly out dated graphics, this game is still very good and will keep you hooked till the end.

It is a very lengthy game, with a perfect fighting system to show off the characters attacks and abilitys.

Ok so, when I first got into Final Fantasy I started with 8. My boyfriend thinks I'm CRAZY and tells me this is the best Final Fantasy. We spent all Friday night looking for it, but could not. Is it worth ordering it online?
I mean I know of it's history and people really seem to love this game, but should I go back in Final Fantasy history and see why it's oh so good??

"The death scene of Areis".....it actually made my little brother cry. To add to that, my mom got into it too. the Chocobo races, powering up materia for hours. HELL SHE EVEN BEAT RUBY WEAPON!! Truly a great.

First great RPG on the PS

I don't want to piss anybody off, but I honestly think this game is overated...
I think Square Enix made too many spin-offs of it too, when they should be making spin-offs of the other FF games that they made as well, lol.
Don't get me wrong, this game is amazing and, being the FF fanboy I am, I still managed to give it a 5 and add it to my favorites list, but I just think it's been in Square Enix's spotlight for a bit too long.
The only thing they should make that has to do with FF7 now is maybe a remake, but then they should stop at that point and start focusing on making remakes of the other FF games, or better yet, start focusing on making new FF games.

Well, the reason why this game is in the spotlight is it was the first final fantasy to reach American shores. Consequently, America fell in love with the final fantasy series in general and not just FF7. Most people love FF7 more than say...FF10 because of the nostalgia of their younger days as they were first introduced to the FF series with FF7. That includes me btw...this is my favorite game of all time lol.

This game has also been on the spotlight for so long because it revied the RPG genre in america
