♥My MLG Dallas♥
My MLG Dallas Experience.
Preparing for MLG Dallas was by far the hardest objective I’ve ever had to complete. It was difficult for me because I didn’t even know if I was attending or not. So, first thing was first, I had to find a sponsor and quick. I asked around, vVv was in line first, I got several different offers from some good people, but so many things didn’t go the way they were planned. And I thank everyone for the offers, you’re all amazing, but I ended up going with MLGnews.com. My “Boss”, Mark Foozbabaghanush, came in with the clutch sponsorship for Dallas. When my ticket was finally secured, and my itinerary was emailed to me, I couldn’t be any happier. I then settled down, and contacted my MLG groupies, notifying them of my ‘soon to be’ presence.
My trip started at Chicago’s Midway Airport at a beautiful 6:00 am flight. Once on the plane, and all settled in, I instantly plugged in my headphones, blasted my IPOD, and quickly fell asleep for a little bit. My next destination wasn’t Dallas; it was an hour long transfer in Atlanta. I gather my belongings; and make my way out of the plane, so I can check to see where my next gate is located. Turns out, the gate is right next to me. I wasn’t really expecting this. I’ve flown dozens of times, and not once has my transfer gate ever been right next to me, so I was slightly confused. Walking a mere 30 ft to gate B26, I knew I was supposed to be seeing a familiar face, but he ended up spotting me due to my late state of confusion. The next thing I know, my teammate/captain, was talking to me. “Gee, thanks for saying hi!” is what I heard from him. I didn’t even realize it, but he was standing right next to me, with his vVv sweatshirt on. How did I not notice him? But, with intros and hugs over, and about 40 minutes later, we were ready to board our next flight. I take on the window seat, since he’s a little precautious about flying. Once we lodged ourselves into our seats, adjusted the air settings, seatbelts on, and IPOD back to its blasting state, we made our ascent into the sky. This part of the trip was routine as well. I read some “Twilight”, with some background music, and Image slept pretty much the whole time until the landing part came around. Once we finally touched down, we made our way to baggage claim. I didn’t put anything under the plane, but Image did, so we waited. I also got in quick contact with one of my best Xbox live buddies, and former vVv Member/teammate, Exclusive. He told me he was on his way to come pick us up, and take us to our hotel. Catching up with “Exxy” was flat out amazing. I’ve missed this kid at the last two events, and he’s told me that Dallas was his final event. L
About 20 minutes later, we arrive at our hotel. I say my goodbyes to Exclusive, and make my way inside the lobby. Checking in was pretty easy, Image took care everything. I was too tired to even raise a finger. Once we received our room keys, and make our way to our room, we both instantly drop our bags, and sleep. We both wake up from phone calls from our next teammate that would be arriving, Void. He notified us that he had landed and will be taking a cab to our hotel. Roughly around 3:00 pm, we hit up Denny’s, which was nicely planted right next to our hotel. After letting our stomachs settle for a moment, we make the 5-10 minute walk to the Venue. Walking through the double doors, and seeing about a million faces that were recognizable to me, I instantly start will the “Hello’s” and hugs. Image picked up all of our Pro passes, and we made our way into the event. AM Bracket wasn’t too bad this time around. There were so many teams I was looking forward to watching. I started with my European friend’s team Dignitas. I met another former vVv member from that group, Deceptive. I watched them perform at a top level and than made my way to the next team, Release. Exxy performed pretty well this event; I would have to say his best by far. Him, and his team got to, I believe, 17th place. Very proud of my little brother J Getting very tired from AM Bracket, vVv Prophecy starts warming up on empty stations. By now, we have regrouped with Rusty (RMAN), and started the classic 1v1 Mid Boxes on War Machine. Our day consisted of warm ups, greetings, pictures, laughs, and receiving our new sponsored Headsets from Turtle Beach (cough AMAZING, and thank you!). I’m going to skip the rest of our day, and continue from Friday night.
Uzzi finally arrived at the airport, so we sent Rman to go pick him up. Turns out, Uzzi told us the wrong airport he landed at. Nice move there UZZI. Rman, now pissed off from driving all over the place, as well as getting lost, arrives at Dallas Love Field, and brings the package to the hotel. Uzzi now secure under our supervision, it’s all downhill with laughs from there. There’s no way I can describe to you how funny UZZI really is. The kid is a walking sitcom. Everything he does is absolute brilliance. Well, a few hours, and tears later, we all finally settle down, and fall asleep.
The next morning wasn’t any different; laughs, tears, eating at Denny’s, and walking. Walking into the event again, vVv Prophecy starts up some scrims. Meanwhile, the AM bracket is still going on all around us. We constantly heard cheering, smack talking, and actually saw chairs flying backwards due to too much excitement. The gears of war community definitely knows how to show support; never a dull moment. Well, about 4 hours later, championship bracket was finally about to start. Our first match up was against a few friends of ours, Violent by Instinct, with coach Big Vixen. It was a quick 3 Maps to 0, but all around fun, and got us pumped up for our next match against Infinity. “vVv Prophecy vs. Infinity on main stage.” That’s what we heard next, so we followed one another up the stairs. It was a good match, just too many mistakes. Also, nerves were another factor that we didn’t expect. It truly got the best of the boys, well boy. Results from that match: 3-0 L. Next match up was against the Nsanes. Another main stage performance though. This time, it was strictly mistakes and missed shots. Once again, we lose; 3-1. If you would like to watch it, the VOD from mlgpro.com should have it up soon. So, we are now out of the tourney, with the exception of the consolation match, which was predictably against Violent by Instinct, again. It was another quick 3-0, and that was it for the day.
Another trip to Denny’s, which consisted of me, Uzzi, SiKiMaGe, Void, and his friend Jess. Loads of food, laughs, tears, and videos. Check this one out. Uzzi thought it would be funny to just sit at another table for about 5 minutes. He than started eating random crackers, and talking to the host. It was unbearable for us. You can view it here:

I don’t believe I’ve ever laughed so hard in my life, than from that night right there. Well, after all that madness was over, we made our trip back to the venue to watch the final match between Infinity and Dynasty Retaliation. In my opinion, this was by far the best match of the year. Last year vVv Vision vs. Prophecy had it for me, but this is coming close to topping it altogether. I can only sum it all up for you readers. Last Map, last round, than BLACKOUT. The main stage screen goes black. The crowd leaps to their feet, running to the VOD section, as well as behind the players up on the stage. I stay where I’m at, knowing that if I moved, I would get trampled. All I can really see is face expressions on the Infinity players, also the official in the middle holding up two fingers for each side indicating that two players from each team have teammates down. I than look up at my buddy God 603, and I just watch his reactions. He’s standing about half way out of his chair, and I knew it was over. Infinity won MLG Dallas 6 maps to 5. There was so much intensity in the room that threats were actually being made between fans. Once all the insanity calmed down, I went up on main stage and congratulated my close friends. That match will be the talk of the year, because not only was it flat out epic, there were so many factors that could have changed the results of certain rounds, map counts, and the ending result, the Champions of MLG Dallas.
With all the hysteria coming to a quick end, we all head to vVv LordJerith’s room for some last night entertainment. The room consisted of me, Uzzi, Orion, Sikimage, Enmity, Perilous, Void, and Jerry himself. This was also a hysterical night, a great end to a great weekend you could say. Room service decided to make an appearance, which caused Jerry to verbal him, and get himself some free food and a hotel room. Jerry, you are my Hero! (Video: Coming Soon)
With Sunday morning right around the corner, we all soaked in the company of everyone around us. But, getting back to the hotel room was another story waiting to be told. Once again, Uzzi and SiKiMaGe were up to no good. I was actually trying to sleep; knowing we all had to be up early. But they didn’t listen. I just hear snickers from both of the boys, and than a tap on my back makes me get up to see what’s going on. Apparently lotion is something that looks like, uh, male things . . . so they figured that putting it on Rman’s head would be hysterical. And, it was. I present to you the end result.
http://i36.tinypic.com/2z867t0.jpg
Once we all saw the picture that Uzzi took, it was over. K-O. We all burst into laughter. No one could hold it in from there. It was the perfect way to end our weekend. Well, as you might have guessed, the laughter subsided, and we all finally drift off to sleep.
Sunday Morning. The worst day for Gears Players. Well, Uzzi was the first to leave us. He had a really early flight, which I don’t recommend. So, he gave us all hugs, and reassurance that he will make MLG Vegas. Thank God. Soon, Rman and Bman wake up, shower, and pack up all their belongings. Quite quickly too. I think they were in a hurry to get on their 7 hour drive back home. About another hour goes by, and the last of us decide to wake up, shower, and pack everything. I wasn’t in too much of a rush, my flight was at 4, but Image’s was at 1, and Void didn’t need to hurry at all. He decided to book his flight for Monday. No idea why. But, it ended up being a pretty good morning. All the goodbyes said and done, Image and I made our way down to the lobby to check out. Once that was all over and done with, my next destination was to Jerry’s hotel. By now, it was lunch time, and the boys were hungry. So I spent my last moments in Dallas, with a bunch of vVv Members. Nothing better. Enmity, Perilous, Jerry, Orion, and I had a great lunch at some Mexican restaurant, than dessert at Chili’s. My tummy nice and full for my flight, Orion takes me to the Airport, and thus my final departures from all gamers I know and love.
My flights back home went pretty smoothly. Only thing that freaked me out was the landing in Chicago. We were almost touching down, when we instantly pulled up back into the sky. I knew something was up. Next thing I hear is that a plane wasn’t off the runway, and we had to make a U-turn to re-land. The second time around was pretty routine, I give the pilot a B+ on the landing. Yes, I grade the landing.
Once back home, in some warmer clothes (Chicago is getting really cold!), I start uploading all my pictures from my trip. To view all of them, go here:
And here are all the videos that I recorded over the weekend:

Well, that concludes my MLG Dallas weekend. I really enjoyed myself this event, and it was by far my favorite event for the Year. I would just like to thank MLGNEWS.com for sponsoring me, for this maybe final event of the year. Be sure to visit www.mlgnews.com for MLG updates and other competitive gaming related topics.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you guys in Vegas for the Finals. J
Old Blog on New Games
I've been reading some blogging sites, and have seen lots of talk on new game releases for this year. This is basically a list that I've come up with, and believe that these games deserve top spots for this years games of the year. (No Order: Red = Hot Games I will buy) Condemned 2 :Bloodshot Rainbow Six Vegas 2 World In Conflict Star Wars the Force Unleased Supreme Commander Grand Theft Auto IV Unreal Tournament III Top Spin 3 Ninja Gaiden 2 Lego Indiana Jones Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Halo Wars Soul Calibur IV Tom Clancy's End War Command and Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath Left 4 Dead Fallout 3 Fracture Prototype Tomb Raider: Underworld Command and Conquer: Red Alert Borderlands Gears of War 2 Now, most of these are 360 and PS3 Titles, but honestly, I don't really want to get certain games for PC yet, because we haven't received our Dell XPS yet(Arrives Next Week!)>.< As for all these games I've listed, I personally can't wait for Gears of War 2. Being such an avid fan of the first one, and playing the game compeditivly, I've really bonded with GOW. It's basically my life. I fell in love with the game when it was first in development, and when that game finally hit stores, I already had my Collector's Edition waiting for me. I played through story mode instantly, co-op and single player, than gave the multiplayer a shot. At first, I didn't like it. My head was so far up halo 2's ass that I didn't want to play ANY other multiplayer game. But once I experienced the Halo 2 MLG Community, I gave up, and made the amazing switch to Gears of War. I will never look back. Another game that I'm anticipating is Spinter Cell Conviction. Tom Clancy has put together some amazing games throughout the years; Rainbow Six 3 Series, Spinter Cell, Ghost Recon's, etc etc. But what popped my interest with the SC Series was the online double matches. You can either play as a mercenary, or a spy. I prefer spy. It was so much fun to sneak up onto people, grab their necks, twist, hear the sound of a thunderous crack, and then run into the shadows like nothing had happened!! Such a thrill! The story line of a secret agent is always a joy to play as aswell. Theres so much to write about when it comes to the Tom Clancy games. I've just been such a huge fan since Rainbow Six 3 (OG Xbox Console) that I still haven't turned my back on TC Games. Tom Clancy's other latest game coming out is End War, a real-time strategy game for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, PSP, and Nintendo DS, set during World War III being designed by Ubisoft Shanghai. The special edition of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will include a video with the first live gameplay footage of this game. OMGGEE Nerds I can't wait! Which games are you planning on buying this year? Games that have already made it's appearence: Turok Army of Two Bully: Scholarship Edition Devil May Cry 4 Frontlines: Fuels of War etc.

MrsViolence- Q: Tell me a little about yourself and how you got into professional gaming? The world of gaming and our readers want to know the player behind the name and how you got into professional gaming in the first place?
A: I got into professional gaming when I was about 16. I played Command and Conquer: Yuris Revenge competitively. I was all about the PC games when I was younger and only really played single player games on Consoles N64 and Playstation. I have been a “gamer” my whole life. I got a Nintendo when I was about 10 and it was history from then on. I got every system that came out. From Sega CD to Gamecube. I currently own the 360 obviously, a Nintendo Wii, a Nintendo DS and I am purchasing a PS3 in 2 weeks.
Q: How did you meet with the team you are with currently?
A: Well my team consists of RmaN who is by far one of the best slayers in the game. He has moments where he just goes unstoppable and untouchable. He is also one of the best runners/escape artists in the game as well. I have known him for a while, about a year and half now. We teamed back in the GB days a lot so we have always had a good chemistry with each other when it comes to Gears. We are also very good friends outside of the gaming. Also on the team is Uzzi. The loudmouth from Florida or Bobby Hill as his fellow Xbox live friends would like to call him. I met Uzzi in his early vVv days and just knew him as a good online host who dominated on it. He got on the team, I am not afraid to say it by luck. Vexxel was supposed to be in his spot but he ended up not being able to go and with little time Uzzi was right on cue. I have not regretted having him on the team yet. He is a great player and a better support player than slayer. He drives off emotion and is very into the game come tourney time. This is what I love about him. He is very energetic and always gets pumped up. He just needs to learn to keep that composure the whole way through the competition. Right now we are with Takedown. A vet of MLG and an enemy of mine all last year due to the teams we were on. He is a great all around player and he is a very smart player as well. It helps this team because it brings added maturity and also brains to the field. However, complications have arose and I do not know if we will be able to attend Dallas and Finals with him on the roster due to some MLG rules. We shall see how it goes.
Q: What are the secrets that make you such a good captain?
A: Haha, oh the method of my madness. I am an older gamer being 24 soon to be 25. I have a lot of maturity and a lot of smarts to bring to the game. I love making strategies and perfecting them, then see them used by other teams all last year was an accomplishment enough for me. This game requires a great amount of smarts and teamwork and that is where I strive for my gameplay. There really is no secret though, I just get it done. I practice hard and devote much time to the game while having much to do in my real life. So it does get quite hectic, but I set a practice schedule and the team sticks to it so most of the time it works out. I am all about hard practice because it gives you the upper hand in situations when you have to make a quick decision, if you practice more you will come across these decisions and be able to make the right one when the time comes.
Q: Why did you choose to play Gears of War competitively instead of Halo, or Rainbow?
A: I played Halo 2 for 2 years on the circuit of MLG and honestly I was just ok. I made semi-pro 1 event and that was enough for me I guess, haha. Gears came out and honestly I could not take my hands off the game. It was a game made for me. I like blood, gore, violence and bad ass attitudes. So it fit so well. I was in college at the time of its release so I had plenty of time on my hands to play. And play I did. I got really good at it and decided if this game comes out on the circuit I am going to be pro at it. Sure enough it was announced and I have yet to fall out of the top 8 on the game. Some see this as no accomplishment. But, I beg to differ. I see it as a very good accomplishment and I am proud of it. Rainbow never appealed to me at all. I don’t think it is a good game and honestly it just bored me.
Q: When you are on the main stage at MLG can you describe what it feels like to be up there in front of everyone with fans cheering as you play?
A: There is nothing like it to be honest. Last year when we were playing vVv Vision on main stage in Chicago for the championship, there was just a rush of feelings. This year even playing the Nsanes for top 4 on main stage was very intense. The games were close and we had a decent cheering section. It makes you play better and really drives your emotion. There is nothing better than pulling off a sick kill and having the crowd just cheer in return.
Q: What was the best match you've played in Gears of War, and why?
A: Definitely, my match against Infinity in WCG. We played them last year after a night of partying, yes we were a little under the weather the next morning. We came out on fire. We were an hour late for our match and just showed up, no warm ups, and just slapped them 3-0. I hit the sickest snipe shots of my life in that match and we just had no clue how we played so good feeling not so hot the entire time.HaHa. It was really funny and Infinity was pissed!
Q: Where do you see competitive gaming in the coming years? Do you think it will ever reach the status of the NFL?
A: It will take off for sure more than it already has. I don’t see it becoming as big as the NFL though. Maybe as big as poker but definitely not as big as a major sport. If we lived in Korea however hahaha
.
Q: How did vVv Gaming help you get to where you are today?
A: Well, Honestly I joined vVv a little over a month ago and I can’t really comment to much on this question. I have however enjoyed my time so far in vVv and am looking to a lasting relationship with the organization.
Q: What do you think separates vVv Gaming from other gaming organizations?
A: Well it is in what 13 countries? It is very community based which I love. Everyone has an input and everyone is respected amongst each other. It really is a nice place to come to and just enjoy talking in the ShoutBox after a long day of work.
Q: While you've represented vVv Gaming, have other gamers treated you differently?
A: Yea, as if I was not disliked by pesky kids enough already, now they hate me even more! No, but really it has changed the way people in vVv see me that’s for sure. Honestly, that is the only thing that matters to me. If the other people in the organization respect me then that is just perfect for me. I give a lot of respect to members of vVv and just expect the same in return.
Q: What is your most embarrassing gaming moment?
A: It was actually recently. Against the Nsane’s on Fuel Depot, you can actually watch this on VoD. Either RmaN’s screen or I believe Zkilla’s screen would be the best to see it from. Well anyways we pretty much had the round won and we would have won the map if this did not occur. But, it happens and you just take it sometimes lol. Rman and I were back door on Fuel Depot and we downed a player at boom, well I went to roll in on the kid switching to my shotgun for the kill. I however got glitched on the roll spot or the “step up”, and then instead of having a shotgun out on my second roll I had a smoke grenade out which I just tossed on the ground and got one shotted. It was definitely pretty embarrassing and almost costly haha.
Q: How long do you see yourself playing on the MLG Circuit?
A: I give myself definitely another year if Gears of War 2 is picked up. Then I will most likely call it quits and hang up the sticks. I have a great job right now where traveling does not conflict with my work until I get back and have to work 9-10 days in a row :\ but all n all it’s very accommodating right now. I figure as long as I am good at a game and constantly placing pro in the game where it does not interfere with my outside life, I will continue to do it. So expect to see me around quite often
MrsViolence: Well, thank you for your time, and we are looking forward to seeing you and your team play at MLG Dallas.
Sikimage: Thanks for the interview. Thank you to vVv gaming and Jerry for sponsoring myself and my team. I look forward to the future. If you would like to contact me for anything , including lessons feel free to contact me on AiM at Garuppy3131 or on XBL StraFeiMaGe.

Chicago, my new Home
Due to some certain problems, I’ve decided to take my life to Chicago Illinois. Not only is Chicago, my city, it’s the headquarters for vVv Gaming. I can’t tell you readers how excited that I am to be here. Virginia was, by far, the worst state I’ve ever had to live in. The only good thing that came out of living there was, my cat Chalz, and my friends from Game Stop. But other than that, nothing really… just a bunch of sailors, and trashy people.
So, starting my new life, comes responsibility, and action. So, no more of this sitting at home, playing 12 hours a day, and getting everything I need bought and paid for. I will be getting a job, taking care of my neice, helping around this kick ass house, and going to some White Sox games. HAHA! All I can really say, is that I’m excited. Wish me luck my fellow readers, I’m about to walk outside for once, and see what the world is made of, or I should say, what I’m made of <3
I expect to see LordJerith, Dark Chaos, Puff, Eliptyk, and Cynosure. Anyone else? Just hit me up, and we can go to a Sox game or something! ?
vVv Gaming Wants You
I am pleased to announce that vVv gaming is opening recruiting again. As
many of you know, vVv Gaming opens its doors from Sept 1st to Dec 1st every
year to allow casual gamers to join as fans and community members. This
year, we also have our Adopt-a-Player program that allows gamers to get
lessons from top players (free, of course) on various titles. If joining an
organization that has the best players that span 9 countries on 10 titles on
both PC and Console is for you, now is the time to apply. And for those
aspiring to become pro gamers, you need look no farther than the success
story of vVv Destiny. Coming from complete obscurity, these gamers placed
9th at MLG Toronto shocking the eSports scene with their accomplishment.
Under the leadership of vVv Enmity, this team demonstrates that with drive,
talent and a little help from vVv Gaming, dreams can be realized!
It's also important to note that many people apply just to be part of the
vVv Team that supports our players at LAN's and many have gone on to become
bloggers, writers and graphic designers inside of eSports. There are many
ways to add value to vVv Gaming and help grow this exciting organization. I
should also mention we have a lot of fun!
For those that may not know vVv Gaming's history, here is a quick synopsis:
vVv Gaming emerged onto the competitive circuit in 2007 with its explosive
Gears of War team, vVv Vision. After dominating the competition, vVv Gaming
set the standard for how Gears of War was and is played competitively. The
aggressive vVv style of play is now the standard tactical approach used by
teams on the MLG Pro Circuit. vVv Gaming also helped discover many pro
players, delivering 8 of the most exciting players to the MLG Gears of War
Circuit. At the end of 2007, vVv Gaming expanded into the European Union
with its EU Gears of War team, vVv Focus, and captured a first place finish
at XL3 in the United Kingdom. In 2008, vVv Gaming once again thrilled
audiences at XL4 and XL5, as well as MLG Meadowlands, MLG San Diego and MLG
Orlando. At MLG Orlando, vVv Gaming decimated all the Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
competition with its beastly Rainbow Six Team: vVv ReWritten. At MLG
Toronto, vVv Gaming again made history by being the first organization to
have professional teams on all 3 MLG Titles (Halo 3, Gears of War and
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2) and also the first organization to win back to back
events for R6V2. As of August 2008, vVv Gaming boats players in 9 countries
across 10 titles on both the XBOX360 and PC. One thing that separates vVv
Gaming from all the other gaming organizations: Its people. vVv Gaming has
the best staff, players and community in eSports. Once players and fans meet
vVv Gaming's community, they rapidly want to apply and become members. vVv
Gaming only recruits for a brief period in the fall of each year. Globally,
players seek the opportunity to join vVv Gaming. One thing is for certain:
eSports has been forever changed with the arrival of vVv Gaming.
